Mike’s career in civil and structural engineering spans more than three decades, focusing on a varied group of clients from private, land development clients to municipalities and businesses. Applying both creativity and pragmatism to site planning and design, Michael is adept in assisting clients in optimizing the potential of their sites. His understanding of the many challenges and complications of commercial real estate development supports the efficient strategy, design and permitting of land development projects, both large and small. Michael works to consistently anticipate client needs and meet them proactively with practical, yet innovative solutions.
Edward S Thibeault, PLS
Ed’s career in survey started in 2000 when he and his family moved to Maine. He had studied architecture and construction in college and a certificate with honors in drafting technology brought it all together. He has worked in Maine and Vermont, joining Landmark in 2007. He is proficient in all aspects of survey and in 2025 added drone pilot to the list.

K Mark Barbour, PLS
Mark’s career in surveying started over four decades ago. While studying at University of Maine Orono, he concentrated on forestry and wildlife management, fully expecting to work in our park system. During those first few years of college, he took a job with the Maine Department of Transportation as a rodman and the rest is history!
Joel M Lufkin, PE
Joel has over 20 years of civil engineering experience and has provided design and consulting services on a wide range of projects. He is experienced in land development, site grading and layout, stormwater management, structural engineering, utility design, construction management, and environmental assessment. His attention to detail has served him and his clients well. Joel has spent his career in Maine, with a few ‘away’ project experiences, such as soccer stadium assessments in Turkey. Joel has an in-depth understanding of local, state, and federal permitting requirements.
